Dangote Reportedly Stopped Olamide And Don Jazzy’s Quarrel

According to a report by one of Nigeria’s most famous bloggers, Laila Ijeoma ofLailasblog, Africa’s richest man Aliko Dangote made Don Jazzy and Olamide end their beef barely 24 hours after it began.Dangote is a known patron of Arts and Entertainment in Nigeria having been involved personally in the careers of many artists by offering his material and morale support any time the occasion has arisen.                                Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote was the brain behind the reconciliation. No, Vic O wasn’t involved either. I’m told that the picture we all saw of Olamide & Don Jazzy shaking hands was taken at Aliko’s place. Aliko Dangote stepped in for there to be peace. I’m also told that Olamide prostrated himself for Jazzy. Yes, my guy was shocked too when Olamide did that. All thanks to Dangote.
I’m told Jazzy has been angry since the incident happened, infact he wasn’t even talking to people. He was angry especially because Olamide did something similar last year when Reekado Banks got the Headies 2014 Rookie award. If you recall, the undisputed street King went on stage to receive his award at the 2014 Headies and while giving his speech for the “Best Rap Album of the year ”, he clearly stated his displeasure for the omission of his Label mate and protege “Lil Kesh” in the Rookie of the year Category, the category which was won by Mavin’s Reekado Banks. Olamide took the mic said some stuff in Yoruba and then added “I dedicate this award to my nigga “Lil Kesh” for the Rookie of the year , Fuck that sh*t” and then returned the mic.
Fast forward to 2015, my source says everybody that was sitting next to Jazzy was sad Olamide did what he did. I hope you know Olamide and Tiwa did a song together on her recent album plus Teebillz, Tiwa’s husband, I’m told, really loves and respects Olamide. I’m told the video of the song has not been finished sef, Olamide’s part has not been done sef. People were not just happy that Olamide conducted himself in such a manner. That was why Jazzy said all he said on the podium. He had been pushed to the wall. Olamide, you all already know, destroyed things back in Headies’ green room. I’m now exclusively told he also punched someone.
Anyways… Dangote called Jazzy, got Olamide’s number from him and then he called both parties to his house for the settlement. And, EVERYONE is cool now sha. My source says Reekadobanks will release a new single this January. His label did not expect to win Headies’ Next Rated.

Real Madrid appoint Zinedine Zidane as head coach after sacking Rafa Benitez

Spaniard sacked just six months in after rows with players and poor results in key matches
Rafa Benitez has been sacked after just six months as Real Madrid manager, with the club appointing Zinedine Zidane as his replacement.
One of Benitez’s old Premier League foes Gary Neville helped seal the Spaniard’s fate when hisValencia side took a point from Real Madrid at the Mestalla on Sunday.
Directors of the Spanish club were in consultation throughout the day and after a board meeting the Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez, confirmed the dismissal. The appointment of Zidane represented a snub for Jose Mourinho, who was understood to be interested in taking the job after he was sacked by Chelsea in December. Perez remains a huge fan of Mourinho, but the president sees Zidane as the man who will unite Real Madrid’s squabbling players and supporters.

GOODLUCK JONATHAN WRITES AN APPRECIATION MESSAGE TO THE AFRICAN SUN TIMES

I thank The African Sun Times for naming me as its International Person of the year, 2015. I am indeed humbled by this honour. When I think about it, I understand why this medium may have thought me worthy of such an honour. However, I believe that my people, the Nigerian people, are more deserving of this honour. We, the Nigerian people put to shame naysayers and prophets of doom and in 2015, we held a most transparent, violence free and credible elections that transferred power from one political party to another and from an incumbent to the opposition, without rancour, bitterness or strife. In the process, we proved that nobody's political ambition is worth the blood of any Nigerian or any national of any country for that matter. That to me, is a most worthy testimonial of the character of the Nigerian nation and the resilience of our people which is why I dedicate this honour to them. May God continue to bless Nigeria and Nigerians. GEJ.

Buhari Supporters Write Petition To Counter Anti-Buhari Petition

A petition written by supporters of President Muhammadu Buhari intends to counter a similar one circulating online calling for his resignation or impeachment for violating court orders.
The petition in support of President Buhari, started on iPetitions by Audu Bukarti, states that “some political prostitutes and their clients have started an online petition calling on PMB to resign his office for their allegation that the president shown total lack of respect to Court Order when refused to release two high profile accused persons, Colonel Sambo Dasuki and the Biafran separatist leader, Nnamdi Kanu.”
Mr. Bukarti continues, “this petition is a calculated attempt to demoralize our president and truncate his war against corruption in public offices.”
A December 31st petition written by Carol Ajie on Change.org, which calls for President Buhari’s resignation, has received approximately 2,033 supporters at the time of this publication. The petition argues that President Buhari has violated his oath of office because he has not discharged his duties faithfully and in accordance with the Constitution. The petition against President Buhari claims that “in holding Mr Kanu [detained by the Department of State Services] beyond the required period they have infracted on the Immigration Act, the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 and subsisting court orders.”
The Change.org petition asserts that “President Buhari [should] resign from office or face impeachment proceedings. Alternatively avoid another Burundi, call him to comply with the Orders of Courts.”
At the time of publication the petition in support of President Buhari, which started on January 3rd 2016, has approximately 3,064 signaturesThese dueling petitions are the latest form of online activism in Nigeria questioning the legitimacy and leadership of President Buhari. Online and social media have been critical of President Buhari’s treatment of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB), who was unlawfully arrested by agents of the Department of State Services (DSS). President Buhari has also been widely criticized for his many trips to foreign countries and the massacre of Shiite Muslims by the military in Zaria, Kaduna State.
